Realize Your Full Potential

Round One (R1) is a veteran guide for international high achievers living and working worldwide who are navigating academic and professional inflection points.

Advisory support across academic and professional transitions

R1 provides advisory support to individuals living and working worldwide who are facing important decisions about their academic and professional trajectories. Our work is grounded in long-term perspective, careful judgment, and disciplined preparation.

We do not offer transactional services or short-term fixes. Instead, we work with a limited number of clients each year to provide thoughtful, individualized guidance at moments that matter.

Two pathways. One advisory approach.

R1’s advisory framework is applied across two distinct contexts, each with its own challenges and evaluation standards.

How R1 Works

Established in 2004, R1 operates on a selective, advisory-first model. Strategic Guidance forms the foundation of every engagement. Executional Support is provided where appropriate and always downstream of strategy.

Engagements begin with an Application for Consideration, and some applicants are invited to participate in an Assessment Interview.

Experience That Informs Judgement

Since 2004, R1’s advisory work—led by its Founder and Principal—has supported hundreds of internationally mobile professionals across academic systems and career markets worldwide.
